Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of Nunchi, clinical practicum stress, and communication skills on clinical practicum adaption among Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy (KAFNA) cadets.

Methods: This study was a descriptive study and 158 cadets in 3rd and 4th year were recruited to respond to a self-reporting questionnaire in July, 2021. Statistical methods for data analysis included independent t-test, one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni post-hoc, and multiple regression.

Results: The mean scores of the cadets¡¯ Nunchi, clinical practicum stress, communication skills, and clinical practicum adaption were 4.11¡¾0.47, 2.76¡¾0.59, 3.95¡¾0.44, and 3.48¡¾0.53, respectively. The clinical practicum adaption had positive correlations with Nunchi (r=.26, p=.001) and, communication skills (r=.48, p<.001), and a negative relation with clinical practicum stress (r=-.34, p<.001). A statistically significant correlation was also found between Nunchi and communication skills (r=.56, p<.001). The multiple regression analysis presented that the communication skills (©¬=.31, p=.001) had the greatest influence on the clinical practicum adaption and a major satisfaction (©¬=.31, p=.039). The model explained 44.0% of the cadets¡¯ clinical practicum adaption(F=11.28, p<.001).

Conclusion: In order to promote cadets' clinical practicum adaption, education and training to further enhance their communication skills are continuously needed.
